Dr. Elna Johnson (Formerly Dr. Muñoz) is a graduate of the University of British Columbia: Kinesiology; from the University of Western States: Doctor of Chiropractic; and has completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University.

In addition to her degrees, she is an Instructor and Certified Provider of Active Release Techniques® (ART). Dr. Johnson’s extensive athletic background as a sprint hurdler and the numerous injuries she endured throughout that time, has led her to focus her career on sports injuries, prevention, treatment, and performance.

Dr. Johnson has an impressive list of professional accomplishments including having worked with numerous athletes and teams in the CFL, NFL, NHL, UBC Football, UBC Track and Field, and the Athletics Canada – Our Canadian Track and Field Team. She has also had the opportunity to work with various Hollywood actors and stuntmen on numerous movie sets filmed in Vancouver and abroad.

Dr. Johnson utilizes a Biomechanical (movement based) approach to evaluate the cause of injuries, instead of just looking at the site of pain. Her main method of treatment is primarily focused on soft tissue work via Active Release Techniques®, and less on manipulation. She utilizes this approach and her expertise to treat all her patients – from the grandmother hurt gardening to the professional athlete.
